April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. Ross is among the few female players of beach volleyball who have achieved this feat. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian and will join her at Tokyo. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. It could be the last chance she'll ever have as she is 39 years old. She is still confident, however. If we perform at our very highest or perform well, I think we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. This is also a matter of chance. Ross was born August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. Apart from playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball, running and track. In her final game, she clearly stood out. As per her biography in high school, she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). The award was presented to her as by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. Her volleyball skills also won her the Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Although Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since 2017, the former had already been a major athlete on the beach even before the pair formed. She actually won several major championships while playing using two partners, one of whom is a volleyball icon. From 2007 to 2013 she was in a partnership by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Together together with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat for the gold. It was fate that had them. Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. The pair took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college after graduating from high school. And her run at USC was an impressive one. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman Of The Year and an All-American. She was also an integral player in helping the Trojans make the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, however, she was successful in achieving the All-American distinction. During her final two seasons as a member of the Trojans' program, she led them to victories by winning consecutive national championships. She was a fantastic volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter make it to the top of the beach volleyball ladder. In 2001 when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. However, she continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie is a constant source of inspiration for her on and off the beach.
