Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children who would grow up together eventually, learned very early on how to conquer of the difficulties she faced by using her rich and imaginative imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she learned to write or read. At the age of 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar and began singing on a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the same year, she recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While she was a local star while in high school, her dreams were bigger. The day she graduated the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his TV show syndicated by a network at approximately the exact time. Parton joined RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. The band split in 1974 after her own singles like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations.
